PRICE & QUOTATION

Why do car prices changes from day to day?

The prices quoted in Japanese Yen (JPY) should be quite stable as we do not need to change the prices very often. The prices quoted in US Dollars (USD), however, may change daily to reflect the current exchange rate.

Why is the exchange rate on the site different from one I got from the Internet?

The exchange rates found on the internet are the rates which banks use among themselves for international transfers. The banks in turn charge their customers a different rate to cover the costs of the currency exchange. As the rate fluctuates, we contact our bank daily to provide the most accurate exchange rate at the time. If you do not agree with our bank's rate, you are free to request to pay in Japanese Yen instead of USD, and let your bank do the conversion, charging you its own rates for the currency exchange. Please also note that the prices in USD quoted on the website are estimates, to get the proper prices in USD please request a quotation from our sales staff.

How often is the website updated?

The website is updated hourly. Updates include vehicle status updates and new stock updates.

When will you update your stocks?

We add new stocks every few days. Please subscribe to our Newsletter for periodical updates.

Can I cancel my Request for Quotation?

Quotation is just a confirmation on total price, with no obligations. No cancellation required. Do not mistake a Quotation for Proforma Invoice.

The car I want is marked RESERVED, can I still pay for it?

We can do a booking for the unit/s BUT without Reservation. The conditions are as below. Inform us in advance, so that we can advise Status of the vehicle & possibility of getting the vehicle/s or a similar unit/s.

Conditions for Booking vehicle/s already Reserved for others

  1. If a vehicle is already reserved for another customer, you can send us the deposit while waiting for your turn. If the other customer fails to remit, we will sale the unit to the customer who has made payment.
  2. However, if other customer too has made payment, we will find you a similar unit. FOB Price for similar unit, will depend on the unit's specification & maybe at Original FOB price or slight higher. We will try to maintain same price whenever possible.
  3. Please allow for 2~4 weeks for acquisition of similar unit. Note that "similar" units refer to vehicle of same Make and Year & may differ on other features. Some units or those with specific features would require more time to buy, depending on availability.
  4. For "Sale" or "Discounted" vehicle/s it would not be possible to find similar price units, as discounted unit is only valid for a that specific unit.
  5. You can select other vehicles as replacement or Refund. Refund will be less of any bank fees deducted by bank during remittance & also refund Bank Fees of US $100.

Can you include the Freights & Duties in your Quotation?

Our CIF price Quotation only includes FOB + Marine Insurance + Freight for sea shipment freight from Port to Port, plus Inspection & Repair Fees if applicable. We neither quote nor know the cost of duties or any other expenses incurred in your local port. Please check with you local authority & clearing agent.

I sent a quotation request or email but haven't heard back from you, why?

We reply to all the inquiries we receive. If you haven't heard from us after a few business days, please try to contact us by phone or fax.

There could be a few reasons why you are not receiving our emails:

  1. Since some Internet service providers (ISPs) block emails coming from Asia, please ensure that your ISP does not impose such restrictions, as it will make it impossible for us to email you. As an alternative, you may use a free email service provider like Gmail or Yahoo Mail to reach us.
  2. Check your "junk mail" (or sometimes labeled "bulk mail") folder if you have a junk mail filter enabled, as it is possible that your email provider may wrongly classify our reply to your inquiry as spam.
  3. Check to see if you mail box is full.

Important Advice

  1. A good way to ensure the delivery of our email is to add our email address sales@mehran.co.jp to your address book.
  2. Use only your own & only one (1) email address throughout your transaction. We send all correspondence to the one email address as recorded in the customer account & refer all instructions from that one email address.
  3. Do not share email account with other people. If you do not have one, create one using a free email service provider like Gmail or Yahoo Mail
  4. Keep email Password Confidential. If you are using an Internet Cafe PC that is accessible by others, do not save password in those PC.

Help, I can't view the quotation you emailed me!

The format used to send out our email quotations is the html format, and includes links to our website to display images. This is the common format used to create web pages but it is also often used by spammers for advertising. To protect their customers against spam (i.e. unwanted commercial emails), many email providers disable external images and html formatting for unknown email addresses by default.

To view the full quotation, with formatting and images, please enable the content of the email by either adding our email address sales@mehran.co.jp to your address book, or clicking on the "Enable Content" or "Enable Images" button/link while viewing the emailed quotation.

RESERVATION, PROFORMA INVOICE & WAITING LIST

How do I confirm order?

Please read our How to Buy section for step-by-step guideline.

What is a Proforma Invoice & how long can I reserve vehicle(s)?

When you receive a Proforma Invoice from Mehran Trading, this implies that Mehran Trading will reserve the invoiced vehicle(s) for you for a limited period of time, so that you may transfer the money for the deposit to our account.

The reservation period is for 3 working days. BUT be aware that the Proforma Invoice may be canceled at any time, at our discretion, if we have not had any communication nor received any proof of payment from you in the first few days after issue.

Can I cancel or change my Reservation & Proforma Invoice?

YES, please inform us immediately if you want to cancel or change any reservation.

Can I cancel my order after payment?

YES, if unit is cancelled before shipment. 30% Cancellation Charges will be charged, based on Invoice value. Any other incurred cost, such as Inspection Fees & so forth are non-refundable.

Can I change my order after payment?

Please refer to your Sales Person for advice.

How does your "Waiting List" work?

Waiting List is made when there is more than one customer interested to buy a particular vehicle. If the customer who has the Proforma Invoice does not pay within the 3 working days allocated, we will sell the vehicle to the customer(s) in the Waiting List, or customer who has already sent Minimum Deposit.

Customer under Waiting List thus are Booking BUT without reservation, and can send Minimum Deposit first as according to our Conditions as stated below. Inform us in advance, so that we can advise Status of the vehicle & possibility of getting the vehicle/s or a similar unit/s.

FREIGHT & SHIPMENT

Can you include the Freights & Duties in your Quotation?

Do you arrange transport of vehicle directly to my address?

Shipment is only from our Port to your Destination Port. Any further transport of vehicle to your final destination is at your own arrangement.

What is RORO Shipment?

RORO stands for "Roll On Roll Off". It refers to shipment using a Pure Car Carrier (PCC) vessel. Vehicles are driven onto & off those vessel.

What is Container Shipment?

Container shipment refer to shipment where vehicles are loaded into containers & shipped using container shipment vessel. Containers are available for 20ft, 40ft, and 40ft High Cube sizes.

Is your Freight for RORO or Container Shipment?

If not mentioned, all freights quoted are for RORO shipment. We also do Container Shipment on request. Container Shipment may be proposed if it is the best possible shipment option.

Is the Freight same for both RORO shipment & Container Shipment?

NO. Shipment by Container normally costs more, but occasionally it may be cheaper. The customer shall pay any increase in freight charges, if any. Please request it specifically if you want to do Container Shipment.

Can I pay Freight directly (a.k.a. "To Collect", FOB or C&I Terms) to Shipping Company?

We can only do "To Collect" if the Japan local agent verifies the arrangement. Currently, RORO shipments that do not need verification are in the UK, New Zealand & Fiji. For other destinations & for all Container Shipment, please inquire.

How safe is Container Shipment?

We load the vehicles as safely as possible & also contract others to do the loading. There is always a possibility that some damage may occur during shipment & at the time of unloading. No claim for damages is possible.

What is Loading / Vanning fee?

Loading or Vanning is the process of securing in place vehicle(s) inside the container.

MARINE INSURANCE

What is the coverage for your insurance?

"F.P.A., Loss of whole car resulting from theft, pilferage and non-delivery, excluding loss of parts and/or accessories."

Marine Insurance only covers the vehicle while at sea from Departure Port to Destination Port.

Is Marine Insurance compulsory?

Insurance is only compulsory for all Caribbean destinations, because of risky shipment & weather conditions. If you do not want Insurance, we will require Full Payment before shipment.

It is optional for all other destinations & normal payment terms apply.

PAYMENT & REMITTTANCE

Do you deduct Bank Charges from my remittance? Why is the amount you received different from the amount I sent?

NO, our bank does not deduct any extra charges to the transfer of money to our account via T.T. It is possible that intermediary banks deduct charges from the payment.

For example, if your bank "A" sends money to our bank "B" through bank "C", bank C might deduct charges on from your payment as transaction fee. A --> C* --> B

Please inquire about the routing of their payment from their local bank and add the appropriate amount to their payment. For your next remittance, add the appropriate amount to cover those fees.

How much is the Bank Charges or Intermediary Bank Charges?

Please ask your Bank. It could range from $15~$50. Please add appropriate amount to your payment.

Can I cancel my order after payment?

YES, if unit is cancelled before shipment. 30% Cancellation Charges will be charged, based on Invoice value. Any other incurred cost, such as Inspection Fees & so forth are non-refundable.

Can I change my order after payment?

Please refer to your Sales Person for advice.

What is a Proof of Payment & why must I send it?

Basically a copy of Genuine T.T. Slip Stamped by Bank is considered as proof of payment. We request customers to send us copy of T.T. Slip as proof of payment, so that we know for sure that you have made payment. We will only allow Extension for Reservation for a unit, with proof of payment.

I have sent you my T.T. Slip, when can you confirm the receipt of payment?

Remittance should normally clear within a few days, though some may take longer depending on origin, bank & errors on remittance details. Please contact your bank for advice & check all bank details. Please read our How To Buy, Step 4, Payment for more advice.

What is your Refund procedures?

Refund is possible if requested vehicle is not longer available & if there is no suitable replacement. There will be a Refund Fee of US$100 to cover Bank & Processing Fees.

SHIPPING SCHEDULES

When will you ship my vehicle(s)?

Please refer to our How To Buy, Step 5 "Shipment Booking"

Please advise me the latest shipment schedules?

RORO shipments are only available at certain time in the month, depending on Port of Destination & circumstances. The shipment schedules are only available 1~2 weeks before Estimated Shipment Date & are subject to changes. Current available schedule will only be relevant to paid orders that have been added to our Shipment Booking.

How will I know when my vehicle(s) will arrive?

Our "Shipment Advice" email will include the shipment "Estimated Arrival Date", which is advised by Shipping Company. For actual shipment arrival, please contact the local shipping agent. The details of local agent are on the BL & if not, we can advise on request.

OTHERS

Do you turn back the odometers on your vehicles? Can you turn back odometers on request?

WE STRICTLY DO NOT TURN BACK the odometers of our vehicles.

We do not tamper with the odometer & if a vehicle has doubtful mileage, we will remark in vehicle details "mileage / changed". In such cases, the tampering was probably done by the original seller.

If you are doubtful about any mileage, please advise us the vehicle Case No, so that we can double check if there is any typing error.

Mehran Trading has been in business for over 20 years by providing our customers with good vehicles at honest prices. We would not risk jeopardizing our customers confidence by being dishonest with them, especially since a tampered odometer will give false impression on the condition of vehicle(s).

There are authorized agencies that do independent Odometer Certification at additional cost. If you require any such Certification, please ask.

Can you send the accessories for my car separately?

We can send by courier accessories that are easily removable. Additional fee is only for the Courier. We do not remove accessories that are built into the vehicle, as it could be damaged from removal.
